“Office of the Mayor will be involved in the final decisions once that point in the process is reached”
Ron Lacey, Office of the Mayor
San Diego ASA and many in the city have urged the Mayor to participate in the task force.
Here is a reply from the Mayor’s Office received about 1 hour ago to a letter by a concerned citizen:

Subject: RE: task forceGood Morning,
Thanks for taking the time to email the Office of the Mayor regarding “Marijuana Task Force” in the City of San Diego. Your input is important to the Mayor and we hope you will stay involved in public policy decisions. The City Council has taken the lead on this matter and the Office of the Mayor will address the recommendations of the Citizens Task Force on Marijuana once their report and recommendations are complete.
The Office of the Mayor appreciated your input, but the Mayor has declined to be involved directly at this point. Rest assured that the Office of the Mayor will be involved in the final decisions once that point in the process is reached.

Subject: task forceDear Mayor:
I urge your participation in this task force dealing with marijuana.
This is an issue which needs your leadership.
It cannot go underground again, and, thus, evolve on its own momentum.
This is your role: take the bull by the horns and show the world you
are managing this issue.
Yours truly,
LM
